Aside from recognizing or not recognizing as prophets, certain individuals.
I mean fundamental differences.
I'm Muslim, and I used to be Christian, but I know very little about Judaism. Someone please tell me where we agree and where we disagree.
Thanks. : )

Read the question, people. I know the similarities and differences between Christianity and Islam. I am asking if there are any fundamental differences in belief between Judaism and Islam, cause I've not yet seen any.
And a note for the lexicographically challenged - Allah is Arabic for God. If you doubt me, read an Arabic translation of the Christian Bible.

Jihad means struggle. It can be a struggle against an oppressor or attacker, or it can be what we call Jihad al nafs - which means struggle against human desires. We are commanded not to attack, and if the attacker desires to stop fighting, we are commanded to come to peace with them on equitable terms.

This message is for Maurice H.:
Before you come to a forum for answering questions about religion, I suggest you first learn what the hey you are talking about, otherwise you expose your ignorance to the entire world wide web!!!
Catholics believe that God Is Father, Son(Jesus) & the Holy Spirit. We do not believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary is God, nor any person of the Godhead.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to the question at hand: Islam & Judaism are very similar religions. Both have more in common with each other than either one have with Christianity, in fact.
However, one major difference is, like Christianity, Islam teaches that Jesus Is the Messiah. However, Islam teaches that Muhammed, the seal of the Prophets, is greater than the Messiah.
By contrast, although Jews(like Muslims)do not believe that the Messiah will be God Incarnate, they believe that he will be the Greatest Prophet ever to be Sent By God. Even greater than Moses, the Greatest Prophet of Judaism.

One major difference would be that while the Jews were commanded in some situations in the Torah to wipe out their enemies, Muslims are given a general charge to jihad.
Most muslims don't follow this, but some do. To be honest I feel if one were to be a true follower of Islam one would have to wage jihad. Otherwise, what other commands could Muslims arbitrarily leave out.
I don't mean this to sound harsh but it is the way I see it.
I do have friends that are moderate muslims. To me their religion seems to be more of a cultural thing than spiritual.

I can't really answer your question because although I am fairly versed in Judaism, I know very little about Islam. There is one historical point that I am aware of though and that is that when Mohammad first started he thought the Jews would be very accepting of him because they were monotheistic as was he and Christians believed in the Trinity. When he approached the Jews expecting support, the rejected him totally and so he turned away from them and began a persecution against them

I don't know a lot about Judaism from Jews point of view. But I will give you the details from some material from Internet. Some criticisms in the Holy Quran might be helpful.
Although there are a number of differences between Judaism and Islam, yet all these differences seem to emanate from one major and basic difference. The most important and the most significant difference between the two religions, which also provides the basis for all the other differences between the two creeds is the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh). The Muslims, as is well known, hold Muhammad (pbuh) to be the true and the last prophet of God. The Jews do not. Although, apparently it may seem to be a difference relating to one of the beliefs only. However, for a person, who is aware of the position of a prophet of God, it is quite easily comprehensible that this difference results in a difference of foundation upon which the two buildings of Judaism and Islam are built. It actually implies that the two religions are based on the teachings brought to us by two different persons. For a Muslim, the teachings brought by Muhammad (pbuh) are actually the final revelation of the Almighty, which every person must follow to earn eternal salvation. Any person, who rejects the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh), even after being convinced of his truthfulness is bound to fall in the eternal fires of hell. On the contrary, for a Jew, it is primarily the teachings of Moses (pbuh), which need to be followed for the eternal success in the hereafter.
All the similarities between Judaism and Islam are only because of the fact that both religions are based on the teachings of two prophets of the same God. For a Muslim mind, these similarities are in those cases, regarding which God decided not to alter His previous directives or which had maintained their form in the Torah. Any differences brought about through Muhammad (pbuh) are perceived by the Muslim mind as either a change, due to some reason, in the original directive or a correction of a mistake that - intentionally or unintentionally - had taken place in the transmission of a directive in the Torah. On the other hand, for a Jewish mind, because of their stance regarding the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh), the similarities between the two creeds are ascribed to Muhammad (pbuh)'s plagiarizing the previous scriptures, while the differences are ascribed to his deviation from those scriptures.
Whatever the reason for these similarities and differences, the fact is that all the difference between the two creeds are, in fact, based on the belief regarding the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh).
There are a number of times Holy Quran has criticized Jews and also warned Muslims to beware of these acts.
1. Mixing falsehood with truth and hiding the truth and thereby making it difficult for people to find the truth of God (this applies to all the predictions of the Torah relating to the Prophet (pbuh) and Abraham's relation with Arabia and the Ka`bah.) - (Al-Baqarah 2: 42, 159, 173, Aal Imraan 3: 71);
2. Making additions to the book of God on their own (Al-Baqarah 2: 79);
3. Forsaking prayers (Maryam 19: 59);
4. Neither spending in the way of God nor encouraging others to spend in the way of God (Al-Nisaa 4: 37);
5. Ascribing to the false belief that as they were the chosen ones in this world, they would also be among the selected ones in the hereafter and thus, whatever their deeds be, they would ultimately be blessed with paradise (Al-Baqarah 2: 80, Aal Imraan 3: 24). This belief affected their moralities to the extent that they even became arrogant toward the directives of the Shari`ah;
6. Ascribing to the false belief that they are only to believe in a prophet who is from amongst the Israelites (Al-Nisaa 53 - 55);
7. Restricting honesty and moral interaction to their mutual interactions only with other Israelites (Aal Imraan 3: 75);
8. Wasting a part of the revelation that God gave them (Al-Maaidah 5: 13);
9. Acting only on that part of the Shari`ah which benefited them (Al-Baqarah 2: 85);
10. Asking too many questions and thereby making God's Shari`ah more and more difficult to abide by. (Al-Baqarah 2: 67 - 71, 108);
11. Breaking their promise with God, especially relating to the last Prophet (pbuh) - (Al-Nisaa 4: 155); and
Also Jews killed or tried to kill a number of Prophets of God (including Jesus PBUH). They restricted them for a number of things they were never restricted by The God in fact.

One of the definite disagreements is, Is Jesus God?
Christians know that answer is Yes
Muslims along with Catholics and some other say know
Catholics think Mary(the one who birthed Jesus)is God
Trust me it would be better for you to be christian and trust in Jesus.
John 3:16-For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

nothing more funny when people say "allah" is not a true god, when all it is is another name for "God"
and no, Judaism belives in a SINGLE all powerful, undivided god, not part of the trinity....
interestingly Judaism and Islam have more in common in some ways than Judaism and christianity.
Judaism has no trinity, and the messiah has not come yet.
edit: >>"One of the definite disagreements is, Is Jesus God?
Christians know that answer is Yes"<<
that is simple, outright, undeniable Idolotry and polytheism. its simple as that.

It's more a matter of differences in practices than in dogma. Jewish law and Islamic law are independent traditions with independent sources for many details of day-to-day life.

My dear sister!
Peace be upon you.
I am sorry ..i dont remember fundamental religous differences
I can guide u to websites known to research about islam
i can only point out to philosophical differences..
1-They beleive that god...is regretting for creating non jews
2-They believe that thier prophet jacob...has been wandering in the desert at night..and he had a fight with god...and jacob defeated god!
3-they think that they are gods children and gods chosen people
4-They disobeyed all prophets sent to them by god
5-the said bad things about god....that he is crying for them and other bad things..i cant say!
6-they tried to kill every prophet sent to them!
*** All of the above cant be accepted by the normal human mind....u cant just walk and have a fight with your god...your creator.....thats unacceptable....if u can defeat him...then u r a better god than him.......but thats not the point.....the point is they have developed mythological ideas into their religion...just like african and asian pagan religions***
i am sorry for the above mentioned example....but its philosophy as u know!
Anyway my dear sister!
I would like to kindly remind you that...there is a verse in the Holy Quran says that we muslims have our religion and they have their religion!
and i would like to remind u also...that....as long as they are friendly with us....we Muslims shall protect them and be kind with them....not only jews...but christians and other people too!
I wish i could be more help...but i am sorry!
Please check the links below!
Peace be upon you!
