I'm desperate for answers to what I may have. For a month now, I have been sufferering from joint pain so severe it hurts to walk, swollen lymph nodes in my underarms, fatigue, headaches, sore throat, and, the most bizarre symptom of all, brief periods of spotted vision followed by a few seconds of 'blindness' (I don't black out, but I fall down and get really dizzy when this happens). I've been tested for mono, lyme disease, catsratch fever, strep throat, and a multitude of other tests that all come back negative. The three doctors I've been to are stumped. Whatever I have is really getting into my life--I can't go to school and it's hard to even get out of bed. I'm only thirteen, but I feel as if I'm an old person. What could I have? Has anyone ever had thses symtpms?

I could be a hypocondriac, but I do not see how I could imagine a swolle lymph node in my underarm that was measured by one of the doctors to be 4 1/2 cm

My pediatrician says I should see a neuralogist and an orthapedist.

The swollen lymph glands suggest an infection. If anti-biotics are not helping, then a virus of some kind. They would have to rummage around a real lot to isolate the organism - biopsy of a lymph gland would not be out of order - and/or do a lot of cultures. Not to alarm you or to suggest anything, but syphilis could cause a lot of these symptoms, which they might not test for because of your age...but I'm sure it is not that. We are not doctors here, but for sure, it is good that you ask around for anyone who has had similar problems and has had a good diagnosis...good luck.

Sorry you're getting some silly answers. You sound like you're just scared, and want answers. Nobody will know but a doctor, but here is my 2cents:
Have they tested your Thyroid? Some of the symptoms sound like thyroid disease.
Have they tested you for Diabetes? Lupis?
Try going to some websites that have a "Symptom Checker". That might help you get some ideas. Good luck.

Just a thought but . . . has anyone ever suggested hypochondria to you? It happens a lot when as a very young child the only positive attention you got from your parent's was when you were ill. I'm only hypothesizing this because you have been seen and tested thoroughly by three different medical doctors. The pain and symptoms may seem very real to you and in a way they are, but it may very well be generated by the mind.

Probably none of us can tell you here, but it's smart of you to continue to try and find out as much as you can from as many different sources as possible, as it appears you are doing.

Most likely someone somewhere has had similar symptoms and just because these doctors are not familiar with your case, doesn't mean that someone else might not be able to help.

I think you'll find out what's going on and end up being fine. It's possible that stress and horemone changes are causing this.

Check Dr Atkins's Health Revolution and/or The Yeast Connection by Dr William Crook. Systemic candida can cause all the things you describe.
Good luck and God bless!

sounds like one of your organs are dying and you are feeling the backlash of the organ dying and you will need a transplant VERY soon... if you havent gotten a blood culture yet.. you need to and get a piece by piece organ exam to see which is failing on you!!
