If you perform a lot of reps while lifting weight, yes you do lose fat. Like 3 sets of 12-15 reps. If you want to be a body builder and normally lift really heavy but like 3 reps, there's not much fat burning there. The reason why body builders are so lean is because of their diet that has no fat, not because of lifting weights only. Also, in general, body builders are quite UNhealthy because they don't normally do cardio activities.

Normally, any activity aerobic-like will help lose fat. However, combining aerobic AND strength training will help you lose fat the quickest.

Yes. Fat is easily created and stored in the body, but is difficult to lose. This is because for most activities the human body will first use up carbohydrates which are stored in the form of glycogen and muscle tissue before using up fat. Exercising is the best way to burn fat and stay healthy. For long term fat loss, the exercise program should consist of a combination of weight training and aerobic exercises. For a fat loss program, weight training exercises should be done first so that the carbohydrates and glycogen in the body are used up. This also forces the body to conserve and build muscle. After weight training, you should do aerobic exercises. More info on exercises to loose weight available at http://tinyurl.com/jax5h

Sort of. If you are trying to lose fat, then you may want to have some weight lifting in your workout. The exercise that best burns fat is a low to moderate impact cardio workout. According to my favorite eliptical machine I use at my health club, you would want to keep your pulse rate 65% of its maximum (to find you maximum, you subtract your age from 220).

Weight lifting will bump your heart rate well above the 65% range, however, when you have more muscle on your body, then you metabolism increases, which means your body will burn more fat when you are at rest, and most people spend over 90% of the day at rest.

that depends on what kind of weight lifting you do. generally you will lose some fat but you need to do a lot of repetition workout with lighter weights to burn the most fat. If you use heavy weights, you will need to do less reps causing you to burn less calories and less fat. Instead what you will be doing is holding on to more fat and generally be working on mostly muscle building.
This will cause you to gain body mass.

Yes.
Fat does NOT turn into muscle or vice versa - each is lost or built up independently
You will probably lose fat faster with a cardio program and a good diet, but increasing your muscle mass also increases your resting metabolic rate and helps to keep the fat off.

Er...if you mean do you LOSE fat when you life weights, it all depends on how much you are eating - but yes, lifting weights burns calories, which can reduce body fat, as well as building lean mass, which burns more calories while resting.

If you mean do you LOOSEN fat when you lift wieghts, I don't beleive that strength excersise has a 'tenderizing' effect on your body fat, though you may think you notice it due to improved muscle tone below the fat.

Yes, it burns calories and builds muscle, but muscle weighs more than fat so you may see a weight gain after you lose all your excess weight.

You build muscle underneath the fat and the fat slowly burns off, you have to eat right to rebuild the muscle when you tear it down so eat plenty of protein,
