I think they actually try to hide in areas that you dont get wet or clean. For instance they will try to go into the pets ears, which can drive them crazy. Be very careful when giving them a bath when they have fleas. Try to wash with flea shampoo and start at the head and work your way down to their tale.

If you are giving him/her a flea bath (dog), I think the poison in the soap is supposed to kill the fleas. If it's a regular bath, I think they will try to scamper to a place that is hidden from the water. I don't know about the anatomy of a flea...they will be going down the drain anyway, right?

No they do not drown
the only way to kill a flea is to flush it down the drain , pinch it in half, or to fume it! if you just give the pet a bath the fleas stay on the animal and are not affected by the water.

Fleas can drown, but the eggs will not. ANd if you don't get rid of the eggs, you'll just keep having problems.

Fleas are very hardy little pests. They can survive more than you would think. Try useing a flea shampoo

our dog has fleas and always about 20 fall off her. and when i find some i drown them in the sink, but you have to make sure they sink

NO dogs have repellent fur so the water doesnt usley get the fleas

they will die if you use dish soap when you are bathing the dog.After that you need to wait two days before applying frontline or similar product.

They live on outside dogs when it rains.
