Time. It takes time. I'm still reeling over getting broken up with, dealing with constantly retelling people who ask how we are and having to tell them we're not together anymore and why, coming across photos or things that remind me of him. It worked best to try and do the "out of sight, out of mind" - put all the pictures away, mementos, phone number, everything. Don't go nuts and burn the pictures because as bitter as you might be now, you will get over it in time and want them because it was a part of your life. Don't be afraid to talk to people about it and be honest, write him letters and then don't send them, stuff like that. Sometimes all it takes is a great smile from a cute guy to let you know there ARE other guys out there when you're ready. Good luck!

I got dumped after a 10 month relationship. It hurt pretty bad to say the least. The first thing I did was went rabbit hunting, then I came home and listened to hard rock and play violent video games. Um, after that I started on the repair process, It took about a week to get over the main part, about a year to fully recover.
Dont think of all the bad times and faults with him. I did that, and that really messed me up. Also thinking of the good times will do the same to. So just try not to think of him at all. Well that would be running away, but sometimes that is nesesary.

I was dumped once after a long term relationship...it was called a marriage.

I thought I would never, ever get over him. He became perfect in my memory of him and I cried myself to sleep for ages. Eventually, he decided to remarry. Up until that point I had kept hoping he would come back to me. All my friends and family were convinced that I would kill myself because I was so in love with him.

Guess what? That was over twenty years ago. I finally woke up one morning and no longer loved him. His getting remarried allowed me to open my eyes to reality for the first time since our divorce. I started dating again and eventually found Mr. Right.

So...in answer to your question...grieve away and then wake up...it's over and you need to start dating again. The best way to get over someone is to live your life and try not to think of them at all...

Try to be positive, thinking about him, even his faults will only make it harder to move on. Try to figure out what you learned from the relationship and move on. Get out , do fun things, flirt with some guys(not hook up) hang with your friends. Just try to keep your mind off the pain and as time goes on it'll get better.

Oh my...There is no easy way of getting over that one! It depends on the strength of what u had; the EVERYTHING u had at one time.- Me...I moved back to my home town (6 hrs. away); & then went to re-hab!! I was there 2 weeks before it REALLY became existant, that there was "no us". I prayed to God ALOT.
