I mean Hitler hated Jews and Fred Phelps hates gays. Hitler used Jews as a scapegoat and it seems like Fred Phelps is using gays as a scapecoat to spread his influence.

Fred is Hitlers love child. He and his church are the most hate mongering people i've ever seen. They have alot of nerve picketing soldiers funerals like they do. Thank God for the Honor Guard. Phelps and all his followers will all go to h-e-double hockey sticks when they die and will deserve it.

Unfortunately, Hitler had enough brains to manipulate a liberal democracy into a dictatorship with the excuse of national defense. Luckily, Phelps can only manipulate a population of crazies that people are dieing in Iraq because America "supports a gay agenda." Well, Phelps claims to be the mouthpiece of God on Earth, so he obviously must be right because he says he's right. That's how the Bible works, isn't it?
Scapegoating is so common by a plethora of groups in America it's not even worth putting forth the comparison.

If you mean literally, no. I looked up Fred Phelps and Adolf Hitler on wikipedia. Phelps was born in 1929 and Hitler died in 1945. However, they are quite similar in their tactics.
