Yea this happened to my friend, recent immigrant to the U.S. She said no, of course, and got the ticket. I know its popular around here for cops to ask for 'dates' in exchange for not giving tickets, and it's pissed some people off, but is it illegal and what should my friend and other women do in this situation?

I find it funny that the same people who proclaim they are innocent until proven guilty, have obviously decided that the cop was guilty of this. Of course it is illegal, if it really happened. But I seriously doubt that it did. Especially since these days, virtually every department has dash cams, and mics on the officers. But if it really did, she should report it, but don't expect anything to happen, unless she has actual proof.

BJ in exchange for a ticket is really illegal and report it so that appropriate action will be taken against the policeman.

it really is exciting that NJ license has no actual description on it. As a style of identity i'd imagine all that files will be on there. In Oregon your top, weight, hair and eye colour is all on your driver's license. also on tickets issued in Oregon there is an outline section on a citation. i'd have requested in order that as that i might want to placed it in my notes for destiny reference, if needed.

Of course it's illegal. And a so called Police Officer who did that should be charged and fired.

How can you even ask if it's illegal. Of course it is. He was soliciting a bribe and he sexually harrassed her.

Well if it isn't then it should be. Police are supposed to keep people like that off the streets. We don't need police trading for things. How messed up.

Go report the police officer. It is BEYOND illegal. Describe him, find where he works, find out his name. Report him.
