Drink lots of water. Don't eat garlicky foods before going to bed. Drink a large glass of water before bed and a large glass in the morning.

Don't forget to brush your tongue and teeth before going to bed and when you awaken.

Buy a waterpik and clean your entire mouth in the evening and in the morning.

Kill stomach bacteria...Shigella, for example.

For help on killing Shigella bacteria, look at www.curezone.com and read Hulda Regehr Clark's book on The Cure for All Diseases.

DON'T use mouthwash... it contains SD-40 alcohol which will dry the inside of your mouth and actually contribute to your bad breath, contrary to popular belief. It will also kill the GOOD bacteria that is in your mouth.

Clean your teeth at night. And don't eat a lot of sugar after 8 PM.

Floss, brush your teeth, scrape your tongue, rinse with a mouthwash of your choice. Avoid foods that make bad breath, like onions and garlic. If none of that helps, consult your doctor or dentist to see where the smell is coming from.

If you do a search on the internet using "bad breath" as your search term, you will find almost five MILLION references. Here's a good place to start:

The odors from garlic and onions enter your blood stream and then it takes a couple of DAYS before you breathe it all off. As you do this, you will continue to have bad breath. You can only use a mouthwash or breath mint (sugarless) as needed to mask the odor. I have read a lot of answers here saying to eat parsley to get rid of garlic breath, but I have no personal knowledge about that. Try it.

Unfortunately, there is no cure, but it can be decreased. Like other people said, drink lots of water, don't smoke, avoid sugars, brush regularly...etc

I have found the new Crest Pro-Health toothpaste is wonderful at fighting bad breath and just good oral hygiene. My dentist noticed that increase of healthiness too.

Use that, floss before bed, and rinse with Listerine. For bonus points, use a tongue scraper. You can buy a plastic one at your local grocery store. It scrapes off bacteria on your tongue, which can cause bad breath. It really helps a lot!

Drink alot of water
Before you go to bed, floss your teeth, brush your teeth, and tounge, get a tounge scraper you can even use the bowl side of a spoon, rinse and use crest, or listerine mouth wash (crest tastes a whole lot better).

Try to avoid foods that cause bad breath, coffee, garlic, onion, and stuff like that. Even chewing a few sprigs of parsley after a meal might help. Parsley helps with bad breath. If it continues, or if it is horribly bad consult your doctor, you may have a digestive problem.

Make sure you brush your teeth atleast twice daily, one in the morning and one at night before going to bed. Use an effective mouth wash to remove bad breath. I do this and it works for me. Mouth wash is the password!!!! :)

All good answers, but with mouthwashes, keep in mind that any that contain alcohol, like Listerine, will help cause bad breath. The ingredients in Listerine helps kill harmful bacteria, but the alcohol in it causes your mouth to dry out which causes bad breath.

brush, floss, and use a hardcore antiseptic mouthwash -- if it doesn't work at least you tried.

there's a toothpaste called Crest, or Colgate "Night Effects" that supposedly do something overnight. I wouldn't put much stock into that though.

You can buy a bag of Gum brand flossers and a good sized bottle of generic Listerine for $5.

Don't breathe on anybody and you won't be accused of bad breath. Or you could just floss, brush and rinse...
