Society dictates what is right and wrong. Each society has their own mores. What is right here is wrong elsewhere, and vise versa. There really is no right and wrong. It's all perception.

Because we have grown up in the me generation. Spawned by the sixties parents that wanted more for their kids, we have become, through technology a society of victimless crimes and instant gratification. We dont accept responsibility for our own actions and therefore idiotic polictical correctness takes hold.
The answer is to stop looking to the government and look to the self reliance of the turn of the century for results. There really isnt such a thing as a free lunch and the minute we get rid of the idiot psychology al gore types that would tax your social security and the Hillary Clintons of the world we will be lots lots better off.
And finally for the record...IT DOES NOT take a village. It takes concerned parents with the ability to say no, a government to avoid taxing at confiscatory rates and a people who understand the answers start with self reliance....will it work, who knows..its literally up to you

I don't know whether or not you are a child.
Why assume we must "wait for someone to tell us what is right"? That someone is guaranteed to be wrong on occasion -- whoever they are.
Sometimes we know what's right. When that's the case, we needn't "wait" for some authority (there isn't one). (Of course, we might be wrong.)
Other times we aren't sure what's right, in which case, consulting others and thinking about what they say makes sense.
Perhaps if you gave some specific examples, you'd get more enlightening answers.
The best single statement of right and wrong I ever heard was "Try to be kind."

Sorry, I never waited for someone to tell me what was right. Each of us has an internal moral compass.
If you're waiting for someone to tell you what is right, then, yes, you have no free will. And there are a lot of people out there who will tell you what they THINK is right, but it's more to serve their own purposes than for any true measure of right or wrong.

There is absolute right and wrong. Different societies have chosen to take a little or add a little to these absolutes. That doesn't mean that the absolutes have changed. You do have free will though and can choose to do what you want whether right or wrong.

Your life is what you make it as, and no one will stand in judgement of it, now or ever. You don't have to always do what is right, you don't have to do what is wrong. You create your own reality with the precepts and ideals you hold, and from standards set by society, your environment, what you take in with the senses. If it's in you to be it, you can be the most amazing, unique, courageous person of our time, and it'll come from being Out of the box. From being yourself. Unlimited, just like the universe meant us to be.

Welcome to the sings of the times ,as we slowly propel ourselves we tend to forget and take for granted the simple things that make us human like a simple hello to greet someone or good morning at the beginning of a conversation, greed takes the cake ,since we are engrossed in our daily lives who has time to be introduced ,since many females have confessed to sleeping with males without even knowing their names we can bridge the gap quicker to social decay and propel our men to disrespect us as if there is not enough to go around. we as adults will keep losing the tact and innovations that make doing what,s right if we continue to tear down the meaning of a good challenge, respect for oneself is going out the window in a hurry. This is the best example I know, thanks for the question.

It depends on whether you believe in Absolute Truth or Relative Truth. If you hold the position that truth is relative, then whatever you personally think is right is right. If, however, you believe in Absolute Truth, then you need to find what that truth is, consider it and test it by various logical means, and if it passes accept it regardless of your personal beliefs on the subject.

Not everyone feels that way. It's a matter of how much you need to have another's approval. This is a serious problem for parents with adult children.

The best anyone can do is to guide you to the answers you already know within you.
But if you accept what others are telling you than you have given your power away to make choices.
