Why is it people that constantly question your faith get so defensive when you question theirs (if they have any)? Seems a bit hypocritical always questioning my faith yet when the tides turn its as if I offended them, hmmm very ironic? I wonder what God will say to them, if there is one and I hope they suppose there could be? I wonder what they'd say then. Oh wait, they don't look that far ahead.

For me its about letting people know they don't have to live in fear. I am tolerant of everyone, and when I ask questions in this forum, I never mean to be offensive. I just wonder sometimes how some can live their lives in complete fear, when they don't have to. There is a logical explanation for most aspects of religion. I like to think of my self as a spiritual student, and am always open for a discussion.

It might seem hypocritical to you ...but hypocricy is:- saying that you believe one thing and actually believing another. I don't believe that you get much questions/answers questioning your faith at all ...people just want to know why you believe what you do...what's wrong or hypocritical about that? I think that you have sprinkled a grain of truth in your question when you mention offending them. Why would it be hypocritical of someone to be defensive if you offend them, you know, deliberately or otherwise.....and why you might think that it would be ironic...I'm baffled.

What you seem to be saying is, " You critics (not hypocrites) are mean to me, well nya nya ...you're short-sighted...you just wait...God'll show you."
My response to that is....try not to be a doofuss all your life.

i agree its mostly about them wanting to be right. most people are so closed minded, and cant accept that what they beleive in may not be "right" for someone else to beleive in. I don't know what God would say to them, maybe that they had so much time to learn tolerance and "the meaning of life" but they wasted their time always questioning others faith. i wonder if theres like a "lesser of a hell" for reasonably good people, who weren't sure what to beleive. I guess we will all find out some time

Goes both ways. Some Christians on this forum get very offended if anyone says they don't believe in God, then turn around and bash any other religion, or non religion. Human nature I guess, not everyone is perfect.

I think this is a valid point, but...

There are *a lot* of people of faith trying to impose this faith on others.

That probably explains it more than anything.

Secularists are like everyone else, they are offended by people trying to tell them what to think. Especially when that thinking is irrational (which it often is with know it all religious types).

Why is it that people can't keep their religion to themselves, as instructed in the Bible? Remember the passage "when you pray, don't do as the hypocrites do and pray aloud where people can see and hear you, but go into your room and close the door and your Lord will hear you in secret." In other words - who you callin' a hypocrite, ya hypocrite?

everyone is a hypocrite to some degree. what will god say to them. i don't know what will he say to us. Where is our relationship with him the intamacy. The companion ship. the works that go with the faith. how often do we read the bible. witness to someone, or give them the shoes off our feet.
praise thee oh lord for You are our heart amen

Because they already believe they are right and we are wrong, so they think it is their responsibility to turn us around to their view so they can get brownie points from God. when we question them, we are questioning God in their view because they are right in God's eyes in their view.

i think they're just trying to confuse you with your faith...i also meet a lot of people doing the same... they just lack some sense of respect...they can say anything they want because they don't have anything to defend (simply because they dont have religion) ...unlike us, christians, we have to live a life of testimony and we have to be careful of the words we speak...

That is hypocrites.

Why do some people refuse to use spell check? That tickle in the back of your brain that you may or may not have spelled something right may be an indicator that you should use spell check.
