PDF is a result, not an object. Consider it like a hard copy print-out.
But you can make a LINK to the separate PDF file like any other link, as if you were going to make a Word based webpage.
However, Word makes the most terrible websites. It is non-standard, and many browsers won't display it correctly. Internet Explorer might be the most used, but it is non-standard. Start using Microsoft Front Page for making websites that are more in conformance with the www standards.

You can't really insert a pdf file into a word document, but you can convert the pdf to jpg or gif and insert it.
A link is a whole different thing. Put the pdf file into a folder with your word document. Type the text in word that you want to use as the link. Highlight the text, then right click it. Go to Hyperlink, then follow the path to your pdf document.

If you're getting a picture from the PDF file to the Word Document, then I suggest you do the following:
- open the PDF file
- edit
- take a snapshot
- select the area you want copied into your Word Document
- it will automatically copy once you finished selecting
- paste it onto your Word Document!
Voila!

Simple, drag the file from your folder and drop it in the Word doc. Done! A pdf icon appears with the name of the file.
send to your colleagues and they can open the document providing they have pdf reader software.

If you had the PDF Converter program you could convert it to a Word document.
PDF Converter 4 is selling now, but it is $79.
You can check the link below. Supposed to be a "free" PDF converter.

you can link it, you just can't attach/insert it
