That's right brother!
We should all know this. We would have better marriages as a result. Futhermore, better, and lasting family structures.
Paul said in the book of Ephesians chap 5:25-33:
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Powerful words from the man of God, Paul. Let's take it to heart and do better today and always.
And to the wives, Paul would say:
Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
And again:
Ephesians 5:21
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Peace

Christ didn't say much about marriage in the scripture. However, Paul sets down guidlines for his time in his church letters.
FAQ: What books are in the Word and what are apocrypha?
"The books of the Word are all those which have the internal sense; but those books which have not the internal sense, are not the Word. The books of the Word, in the Old Testament, are the five Books of Moses, the Book of Joshua, the Book of Judges, the two Books of Samuel, the two Books of Kings, the Psalms of David, the Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi: and in the New Testament, the four Evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John; and the Apocalypse. The rest have not the internal sense" (Arcana Coelestia n. 10325 or Heavenly Doctrine n. 266).

You know, I can't help but wonder why Paul, a guy who never got married, felt qualified to write about how husbands and wives should act towards each other.
I'm single, and if I were to write a book about how people should act in a marriage, I would probably be exiled. Then again, I'm not an apostle.

seeing somebody getting slapped around again are you? And yet you christians are all so much better than the rest of us. Get her out of the relationship if she is getting beatings before she gets killed. Just report it if nothing else, but you should be willing to risk your life to save somebody elses. Otherwise you are not a man

I don't even know where to begin with this one, so I'm going to dig up my past.
Me don't love woman who treat them like dogs. This question is so uninformed that I can't decide which answer to give. What is he doing to make you say that he doesn't love you? Did he forget your birthday? Did he get angry when he caught you boinking if best friend? The only time I see people slathering their plights in bible verse, is when they can't justify their actions/beliefs rationally.
So, if you want a more helpful answer. please be more specific.

Some men fear compassion. They think they will appear weak. Men and Women are equal in the eyes of God. I'm glad I finally realized this. Thank God!
