My 4yr old son scratches his mosquito bites until they bleed and make sores. I am very worried that he is going to have scars on his arms and legs from this. What can I do to make him stop?

Make him wear gloves. Mosquito season will be over soon and maybe he wont do it next year. Also Avons skin so soft works really well.

Put rubbing alcohol on them twice a day. The alcohol will dry the mosquito bites up and make them go away faster. Then put a band aid on it so he can't scratch them because if it bleeds it will leave a scar.

occasionally i myself will do the same thing, it is probably of little encouragement to you but once you do that much scratching, the itch usually is goes away. i have never had scars so he probably won't either. as for the itch, use a good cream as soon as you can get it on the bite.

I keep Preparation H Supposotories in the freezer. If you get to them before he scratches they really do help! Unless he is badly allergic to the bites, they will be better by morning!

We've made a game out of keeping socks or gloves on my daughters hands when she's got bites. It causes less damage to the skin when her hands are covered by something.

I had this same problem when i was young and the best thing for me was calamine lotion. is is safe for kids, stops itching, and you can turn it into a game. put a little drop of it on the bite, and then put a drop on your arm, and have a "contest" to see who can keep the pink spot (the lotion is pink) the longest!!

GOOD LUCK

Screen doors, no standing water, and citronella plants along your paths.

You will feel much worse if he dies from some plague.
