king james says it was.
i heard that the egyptians book of the dead had things in it from psalms ot.
so if genesis was written 4004 bc and book of dead was around 3,500 bc. it wasnt we who took stuff from the egyptians book of the dead and out it into our kjv, psalms, but rather the egyptians who used parts of our scriptures for thier buriel rituals /book of the dead!! so what do u think?
and do you really belive that earth was only created about 6,00 plus yrs ago?
jesus has been gone just over 2,000 yrs.?
so how old is earth. scientists say billions of yrs old!!!
maybe this is the 2nd time earth was created.. a recreation?
genesis is a recreation story?
yea i know about faith and all, but some things donot add up!!!!
any pastors on here!!!! kjv readers!!! help. sos . its all crazy!!
and why does psalms 22 sound like when jesus said: my god, my god, why hath thou forsaken me!!! ?????????

I can understand how all of this can get confusing. The Bible is not 100% accurate but, there are some things to take into consideration before declaring the Bible an invalid source to believe in. You ask a lot of good questions.

There are some problems with the Bible and errors. Please remember, the Old Testament was passed down by oral tradition before the technology of writing was available. Compared to the Quran which existed long after the technology for writing was invented. So, yes there are errors.

Secondly, there are different ways to interpret based upon the "literary forms" of writers. Depending whether it is in a historical context, prophetic, poetry, or some other type of literary form. I believe Jesus Christ IS THE WORD of God. The Bible is written by people inspired by God.

If you took a Bible course and discovered what SCRIPTURAL TYPOLOGY is you would be amazed. If you knew what SALVATION HISTORY was in the Bible you would understand. If you recognized DIVINE AUTHORITY you would know that there has to be someone in authority to reveal the "secret" truths God has given. If you research all those phrases you will begin a journey of discovery that will last a life time.

We have a saying in Catholicism: the New Testament is hidden in the Old and the Old is revealed in the New. There are many mysteries contained in the Bible that I have been amazed at discovering for the past 20 years and there is a whole lot more. St. Jerome said: Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. The whole Bible is about our SALVATION: Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300 prophesies in the Old Testament about the Messiah you can discover 50 of them in cd's IT IS WRITTEN.

WHEN YOU HAVE BEGUN TO DISCOVER THESE THINGS YOU WILL KNOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY MAN. Jesus (a historical figure along with others in the Bible that are not fictitional characters) by fulfilling just 50 prophesies makes the odds of doing that 10X135 power! An astronomical figure that could not have been achieved by human means.

The thing that might shock you and others is that SATAN used scripture to tempt Jesus. So, too Satan will use scripture to trip us up from following the true faith. This is why there has to be DIVINE AUTHORITY that passes from the Old Testament to APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION in the New Testament. This is why someone cannot Authoritatively pick up a Bible and correctly interpret it nor can there be millions of interpretors to HOLY SCRIPTURE. There can only be one!

King James was incorrect, according to many Christians, including myself. Here's what folks like me think about Genesis:

God did indeed create the world in 6 days and rested for one day. That's 24 hours each day, btw. Most of that is what is in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 is a repeat of Chapter 1 basically. But note there is no time period mentioned between the time God put Adam and Eve into the Garden, and the time when Eve was approached by the Serpent.

We believe that the reason God created a garden with borders was for Adam and Eve's protection. Otherwise, why bother? The whole world is a big garden, right? We also believe that it was at this time that evolution occurred. We believe that Adam and Eve were not human as we know it today, consider them to be well, enlightened, if you will. They were able to walk with God and talk with Him personally. Not even Moses was allowed to do that! God said it would kill Moses if he looked Him straight in the face. But Adam and Eve did it daily!

It puts science and the Bible together once and for all. Evolution did occur, it happened while Adam and Eve were safe in the Garden.

Hope that helps some.

I believe that the world is only 6 or 7 thousand years old... if you sount back as to how old the Bible says different people were, you can figure out how old the world actually is... we did it in Sunday School one time when we were studying Genesis... it took a while but we figured it out and i can't think of the number we got but it wasn't that big... i wanna say it was either in the 4 or 5 thousands BC so...
Jesus was quoteing the psalms... he was curious as to why GOD was letting him have this much pain... He knew it would be painful but he never imagined it would hurt that bad... Jesus felt just like we do wne he was on the earth so... you try to imaging spikes driving through your hands and feet, a crown or thorns jammed onto your head and being beaten within inches of you life... then jammed into the hole in the ground wher ethe cross was to set... the didn't just set it down, they dropped it into the ground... i bet if you try to imagine it, yea it will hurt, but if you go through with it, it will hurt a whole lot more... He could have called down 10, 000 angels if he wanted to but his love for us kept him up on the cross ans suffering... he wanted GOD to ease some of the pain tho...

I don't think King James himself said it was only 4004 yrs old. There is a theory saying that from what the bible says. Who knows really. You won't get a definite answer here. Christians will say it's only 4004 yrs old, and non-Christians will say it's billions. This is more of a debate than a question.

The international used to be flooded sufficiently to transport the Ark to Mount Ararat in the course of the time it rained for forty days and nights. We've all visible what climate can do -- floods, hurricanes, tornadoes -- it all. Whether the arena used to be burnt up or whether or not the part of the arena in which God's selected men and women lived and debased themselves is, to me, insignificant. The international broke aside, continents built -- might be this used to be previous, might be now not -- however it does now not harm my religion in God. Look on the more than a few scourges of the earth that experience burnt up a million/two, a million/three of the populations (bubonic plague, pandamic flu, spanish flu ...) and the earth is repopulated each time to overflowing. We simply misplaced what number of one hundred's of 1000s of mankind within the final 3 years with hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes ... the earthlings maintain to repopulate.

First off it sounds like psalms 22 because it was prophetic.
I personally believe that the creation story was recorded in the format it was for the sake of people being able to understand it. (It isn't until the last 100 years we've had the scientific knowledge to explain it)
The point of the story is to explain that God created everything.

BC dating is different than AD dating. for AD, if you compared 1981 with 2001, 2001 would be the later date. however, BC does this backward. in BC dating, 4004 is earlier than 3500... make sense? so if your dating of 4004 for the Bible is correct, it is older than the egyptian book of the dead. Jesus came much later than all of this... this is why he was able to quote Psalms 22. hope this helps!

Plagiarism has been going on even before there was a written language has existed. Many of the concepts of Christianity existed in other cults prior to the time of Christ, Christianity stole many of the stories and customs. For example the story of Noah, existed before the bible was written and Christmas was originally celebrating the Sun God, but was changed to celebration of the Son of God.

the king's bible does not say such a thing. that is only implied and the conclusion reached by the people who want to see such a thing.

Go the the original Hebrew the king translated from and you'll see something in genesis 1.2

And the earth was (BECAME) without form and void.

Well how did it get that way?

Go to the hebrew and see it came to be that way...i'll elaborate when I get a chance with script references
