In Venezuela we say chamo and chamito. For example "Epa, chamo" or "Epa, chamito" meaning "Hey, dude".
A close friend is called "broder", "pana" or "panita", coming from "brother" and "partner" in English. As when introducing someone: "Este es mi pana Luis", meaning "This is my very close friend Luis". Or you can call someone in the street: "Oye, panita", as in "Hey, you!"
A gay man is refered to as "gay" or "homosexual" (h is soundless), and a gay woman as "lesbiana". Derogative words would be "marico" or "maricón", in the case of a man; and "cachapera" for a woman.

If you don't want to sound derogatorily to a gay person, in spanish you just use the word gay... it's universal and it can be use for men or women.
