I just had my hair permanently straightened a little under a week ago and yes it is super straight. I use to wear it in a one length bob and now it is so pin straight that it does not curl under. Is my hair going to loosen up in time so that I don't have to fight with it to curl under? I also lost a lot of volume with the procedure, how do I get that back? Thank you so much for your time.

It might loosen up a little, but chances are not much. It was meant to be permanent, and so it shall be. But as for the volume, there are a couple of things you can do. First, (especially with straight hair) wispy face-framing bangs look great. It will give a more defined look. And second, use products! I've found that volumizing conditioner looks and works better than shampoo. And Psst is kinda like a hairspray, but not. You spray it at your roots if your hair is dirty and you don't have a shower, and it gets rid of the oily-ness. If you spray it at your roots, and (following the directions) brush it with your hair flipped over, it gets TONS of volume. Then, un-flipping your hair, just finger comb it. :)

I had my hair "permanently" straightened.

This only works if you have had a perm.
Natural curls or waves will always come back, eventually.
But if it is a perm you are having straightened then it wont.

Better to make the most of your natural curls because they will never go for good.

Well, for some people, perms don't work for other they do good work. I regret however, the day i ever put a perm on my hair because my hair fell out dramatically. I no longer fool with perms and as a result, my hair is much thicker and longer!(braids played a major part in that). On the other hand, my sister get perms when ever she needs one and it does good for her hair. i would suggest that you wait a little bit longer to start trying to curl it, simply because you just got the perm and its still fresh. Another thing is that take extremely good care of your hair!
Good Luck

You could possibly try using rollers. Rollers along with a light holding spray. Try it and see.
