pick your load up as high as it will go and then tilt it forward

As in any case or situation, you should drive with a high load where you cannot see the front, you need to drive or move the load driving backwards...in other words your steering wheels going foward, and the drive wheels pulling the load. Now to operate with the load tilted back...one good scenario would be is from going from the bottom of your dock/warehouse up an incline into your dock/warehouse. Obvious reason is, the load will not stay level going up an incline.

So if you hit the brakes hard the load won't slide off the forks if you are going forward
