I already new that my boyfriend was a muslim, but I didn't know the rules that muslims have to obey until yesterday. He never told that he wasn't allowed to have a girlfriend because of his religion. we have been going out for 4 mounths and he says he doesn't care about his religion. We are only 14, I don't know if I should brake up with him because of the rules of his religion, or stay wit him and make him go against his religion. what should I do?

NUMBER ONE...
You are TOO young for a bf.

You should be concentrating on school and FRIENDSHIPS - not "romantic entanglements" that will only lead nowhere.

The ideas of dating, falling in love, etc are too complicated for the average 30-40 year old, so what do you think it will do to one as young as yourself?

As for desire to "ignore" his faiths doctrines (rules)...if he is so willing to do this how much more is he willing to ignore you and any rules you may set for a relationship (hearing you say NO and mean it).

Leave him alone, dedicate yourself to your studies and finding your own faith in God, and all else will be added to you.

if he is shia muslim, ask him about mutah. if he is sunni, ask him about misyar. but only if you really like him.

and i recommend you look up both of those terms first. (btw, i'm (halfway) kidding up ^ there. but now seriously. . . .)

i think you and he should just be friends for now.

you are not making him go against his religion. this is something he has chosen. please don't feel any guilt for what you didn't know.

Altolori2 is a smart woman. Gotta give her some props. She is right on, give her the 10 points!

If he has that much respect for his "god", what makes you think he will respect you?

Why make more difficult. If you think it's not for you, then walk away. Your free to choose the path you wish to follow.

i think it is really up to your boyfriend to decide, since it is his religious rules you would be breaking. good luck!
