I have had my 13 yr old large breed dog on this for over a year. He seems to be doing very well on it, but I am concerned about health risks. Anyone have any comments on how their dog reacted to it?

have you tried arthrogen i like it better for healing the joints..where deramaxx and rimadyl just mask the symptoms..then use the rimadyl/or deramaxx on bad days....it will be less stress on the liver etc... I have seen dogs on both but I have heard that Rimadyl is better... good luck... smile

I've read about bad reactions supposedly related to some breeds' sensitivities; e.g. http://www.dogsadversereactions.com/nsaid/memorial13.html

However, I found that my husky/shepard female got better results with Rimadyl for her arthritis. She is now 14 years old, and Rimadyl definitely helps with her arthritis.
