I believe it is for the safety of the Dr's that are administrating the drug. It seems that some inmates either had or contracted some
type of disease when sent to prison. I believe they sterilize it with a medication that will completely kill any bacteria or harmful illness that might occur if the Dr was to sustain a needle stick after doing the lethal injection. I believe that even if there is bodily fluid on the needle after the injection that the sterilization would protect them from contracting a possible disease from the inmate.

To my knowledge, all needles are made steralized already. Why make a new process to make unsteralized needles just for lethal injections?

that's yet another easily one of existence's little conundrums, doing some thing that makes easily no sense, in simple terms because that's the "ideal" thanks to do issues. as well, a grimy needle might want to could be a used needle. Why bypass to all that difficulty in simple terms to kill someone? in simple terms rip open a touch kit, and use the needle as is.

It is probably part of a protocol that governs ALL injections. I have often wondered why there is Braille on drive-up ATM machines, and I suspect it might be for the same reason.
