Having had cats since the age of 2 and they slept in my crib with me and have had cats sleep with me since then nearly 55 years by now I think I can safely say it's fine to sleep with cats. Cats have the ability to go from totally asleep to alert and ready to go in an instant. If you move at all they are going to know it. Some of them liked my head, others liked to curl up under the covers, some of them liked to sleep right between my knees ( now that can pin you down good at night especially a big cat, like my 18 lb Maine Coon cat LOL). One of my daughters has one that likes to sleep right in the middle of her back. It's fine to let them sleep on your bed if they are so inclined to do so, consider it a pleasure cause they are so cuddlely. The only downside is sometimes they decide it is time for you to get up and they will bug you till you do :)

My kitten started sleeping in my bed when was 7- 8 weeks...he's 6 1/2 mo. now and I've never rolled onto to him. I have a pilliow that I keep off to the side and he sleeps on that most of the night. Your kitten will figure out pretty quickly where to lay to avoid getting kick or squished.

I've always let my cats sleep with me, once they were past 10 weeks old. At that point they are usualy big enough and 'people smart' enough to move if they need to.
If you want a tiny baby kitten to sleep with you, put it in a small vari-kennel, and put that on the bed next to you pillow.
Most kittens & cats sleep on top of the bed, not under the covers with you. They don't get squished or too hot up there.
If you have one that climbs under the covers, try to get ti to go to sleep under your chin or in the crook of your arm, it's less likely that you'll roll on them, and also more likley that if you do move, the kitten will get up and move too.
They grow fast and figure it out.

I wouldn't think that would happen with a normally strong, healthy kitten. If the kitten is only four weeks old then it might be more of a danger.
I am a very restless sleeper and the two cats that sleep on my bed know how to stay out of my way!

Our cats have always started sleeping with us at the age of 4-6 weeks, depending on when we get them from the pound. My beautiful wife is a thrasher in bed (I mean when sleeping) and I'm pretty calm. The kittens always manage to survive by being smarter than most people give them credit for. If you begin to roll over on them, they WILL get out of your way.

No problem for your kitten to sleep in the bed with you. It should be at least 12 weeks old.

Sure it can... I have had 7 cats over the years, and they all liked sleeping with me... if you roll on them they will get out from under you (they may give you a claw or two in appreciation though) they are funner in winter than in summer (nice and warm!)
Some kitties even like to sleep under the cover with you, and some just like the top of the cover. You'll have to see which one your kitty likes best!

It would be great if your kitten slept with you, if it wants to it means that it is bonding, but if you don't let it itcould possib;y think that you don't like it and keep coming back.....don't worry about squishing it, let it sleep on your pillow right by your head, or at the edge of your bed, don't worry, it will be ok.....

If it is a very young kitten I wouldn't take the chance of rolling on it while you sleep, but once they are old enough, by 4 months or so they are big enough and smart enough to move when their comfort is threatened

I think it depends on how old the kitten is. For myself, I've had kittens sharing my bed for many years, and I've not squished them yet. They're tougher than you think- and if you roll over on one to the point where the kitten is uncomfortable, believe me, you'll know it ^_~
