If a person wants to stay away from other people just about constantly? Family is trying to persuade me into going out more and maybe getting involved with a church singles group...is it so wrong that I don't really want to do that?

I think it is more due to the fact that I am newly widowed and they all think I am going to go over the edge or something...not sure if that is their reasoning or not...they just tell me I shouldn't be alone...thing is, you can be alone in a room full of people if there is no one that you connect with.

I think you just need more time to recover from your loss. You will feel like being around other people eventually.

No not really. Some People are Loners, even in the Family of GOD.
I am kind of like that, but when I know that a group of GODs Kids get together, and the Holy Spirit is in charge, I want to be there too! There is nothing as borning as going to what we call a church, and then find out the Holy Spirit isn't in Operation, or even there!
If you don't have any weird problems(no offense), there is nothing wrong with it.

No, it isn't wrong. You should never feel forced into relationships you are not ready for or do not want. On the other hand, even if you are a shy person, isolation is unhealthy. We are social creatures and need to experience intimate human contact. I am sorry to sound so clinical. But I think you know what I am arguing for is balance. Your folks shouldn't cast you out into the world, but you should make your home a bunker either. Compromise.

i don't think it is wrong, but depending on the level of resistance it might be mentally unhealthy. some people are just more naturally introverted. that is perfectly fine. if you don't want to go out all the time, don't feel pressured to do so. but if staying away from people is affecting other areas of your life and making you feel depressed, maybe you need to see a counselor. but based on the information that you gave, i think it is no problem at all. good luck!

People need people, right now you may not feel that you need anyone, but the day will come when you do. My son is pretty much a loner, but only because he is intensely shy. When parents and family are not around, you will need someone.

Not wrong at all, some people just require more alone time than others, just ask any artist, gardener, or writer. ;)

No It is wrong for them to try to control your life.

They should respect your privacy and let you be who you are.

God made you perfect just the way that you are.

Love and blessings

Not at all. Stand up for your right not to be brainwashed. They're pretty good at it, by the way.
