It's safe and warm, but unfortunately, the tsunami destroyed a lot of the beautiful reefs there, especially around Phi Phi and shallower areas. I would imagine that the best places now would be the trips out to Koh Raya and Koh Racha islands, which are 1 1/2 hours out from Ao Chalong bay, so maybe the wave didn't hurt them so much.

Safe waters here, very popular with tourists. The nearby islands like Phi Phi and especially Similan (recognised as one of the best diving sites in the world!) should not be missed. Enjoy :-)

Of course it's safe. Why wouldn't it be? It's Thai style driving, so lots of motorcycles, but the traffic's not as bad as Bangkok, so it's not as stressful. And because a lot of tourists are there and they rent vehicle to drive it, it's pretty standard on the driving front.

Yes, it is safe. Tourists flock there every year to go to the beaches. It is one of the most popular beach resorts in Asia.

Yes...I did. It is very beautiful especially at Similan Islands. Koh Toa near Koh Samui is also the other place that you shouldn't miss it.
