It's extremely appealing for the following obvious reasons:
1. Many times, your family and friends will no longer want anything to do with you.
2. If you were lucky enough to be born before the DSM-IV codes were changed, you were told that you had a mental disease.
3. If you're lucky enough to be born into a fundamentalist family, you're told that the maker of everything thinks your sexual orientation is an abomination.
4. Society still thinks it's ok to treat you as a leper and jokes at your expense are still ok.
5. You've been saved from the whole equal rights thing by not being able to marry.
6. Because of all of the above, your potential for alcoholism and drug abuse rises considerably.
Now, isn't that reason enough? It HAS to be a choice! ;) ;) ;)

Hello God. I heard you were looking for me. Or maybe (pulls mask off) ME! Robert D. That's right...sit down for a minute. This won't hurt a bit.
I personally don't find anything very appealing when I think about how it would be if I was a homosexual. However, I can see the basic choice in the matter. It is a choice between getting laid and not getting laid.
I think that covers it. You will remember nothing of our conversation after I count to three.
One
Two...

Before I get beat up for this, let me add a disclaimer: I think there are some people that are genetically predisposed to be homosexual.

That said, I have known many individuals (mainly in high school and college) who were clearly using their homosexuality as a tool to get attention. It might sound weird, but many men and women go through that phase when they don't know who they want to be yet, and being "the lesbian one" or "the gay guy" gives them a distinct role to play and definitely draws attention.

It isn't a choice, it's an illness in the brain like depression - all the chemicals are screwed up so the victim gets confused.

What wouldn't be appealing about loving someone even if they are the same sex

Homosexuality is a way of life. Men/women are attracted to a person that makes them feel good and wanted. Like all of us, we want to be wanted and loved, doesn't make a diff if it's male or fem

OMG, did you read the woman with the 'hypothalus' answer?
Already, we see people moving from "it's a choice" to "heterosexuals are mentally superior"

Sad, sad Christian hypocrisy.

I doubt anyone would "choose" to do something that would get them banished by their families, ridiculed by others, and greeted with threats of damnation by religious types. I doubt anyone would "choose" to enter into a "lifestyle" that doesn't afford one any of the rights given to heterosexual couples.

I don't think it's a choice. It's a biological difference. People just don't decide to turn "gay," although there are people who choose that lifestyle simply because they are "curious," but they call themselves bisexual.

I don't think it's a choice. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
