Having been told to go to hell a few times myself (hmm...guess I'm not a saint), I would agree with your statement. I think that a lot of "christians" believe that if you aren't like them you won't be in heaven. After all, "their heaven" is made up of people who believe, act and say the same things they do. I think it boils down to fear of the unknown and not being willing to push their boundaries.

Great question.
I think for some people, this may be the case. Especially where people who condemn gays and lesbians are concerned. I think in other instances, it is simply to attempt to intimidate someone into adopting the same viewpoint espoused by the person who is doing the condemning. Either way, it's pretty sad, and reveals an inability to cope with things one disagrees with.

Its nothing personal, more like compassion...
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
If you were in a boat heading for the falls, wouldn't you want someone to tell you that its coming your way? Hell is ahead of everyone who is not found in Christ when they leave this world.

Not at all. I would be so happy to see everyone go to heaven. I don't want to see anyone have to face the alternative. In spite of what a lot of people think, I do not spread God's word or His message to irritate people. I don't want to see anyone go to hell.

No that's not it. I would like to see everyone in Heaven when I get there. Some people just refuse to stop doing stupid things that will, in the end, get them a one way ticket into hell.
