You cannot patent a recipe. You can patent a new product. Like if you have a method to turn dirt into food, then you could patent the process.

You can copyright a book that has the recipe in it.

I think what you mean is patent, right? Anyway, the best way to get a patent is to get yourself a patent attorney to help you with that. Just need to look one up in the Yellow Pages under "Patent Attorneys".

LOL - after I read the response from the other person, I'm pretty sure that is correct. You patent things that are tangible...but you copyright things that are written.
