if you are already engaged and feel like he's in no hurry to get married, then I'd say you are wasting your time with him. why does he want to wait till 2010?

You're engaged to this guy and you don't know how to tell him you don't want to wait 4 more years to get married? How well do you know him? How old are you? How old is he? Are you both 18 and waiting till you graduate from college? If so, that's the sensible thing to do. And if your feelings [or his] do change in the intervening 4 years, better to not be married than have to get a divorce. If you're both older, you have serious relationship problems if you have to ask us how to tell him you don't want to wait 4 more years. And I'd say you 2 need to get some counseling. God bless!

Tell him that if he doesn't want to be married any time soon, tell him you are moving into your own apartment. Say to him if you can't marry me, and you keep putting it off, I'm going to start looking for an apartment I want something real. If we can't be together the way I'd like us to be then we are over. Be that drastic and see what he will do. Either it will push him into setting a date because he is afraid of losing you and what you have or he will be a jerk and put you off longer and longer till you just can't take it

To me "fiance" means he has already asked you to marry him and then it is up to the woman to set her date. If he wants to call you his fiance but doesn't want to set a date, and 2010 is over 3 years away! it sounds like he is simply wanting to keep you to himself without making the real commitment. You should have a talk about where your relationship stands and exactly where it's going before you waste your time.

That's almost 4 years away. Do you have a reason to think that you won't be married by then? You are already engaged if you are referring to them as your fiance, so setting the date shouldn't be hard to do.

Well for starters he's the one who needs to ask so pressuring him for a date even that far out - is a bad idea. If he's going to ask you he will, when he's ready. If you can't wait that long then you need to sit down and discuss it without demands and time constraints.
