seriously, im looking to hang these curtains in like the next 10 to 20 min

You can hang them all the way from the ceiling if you want to . This can give the illusion of a larger window making the room appear taller. Usually they just go a few inches above tho.

And curtains CAN touch the floor. It is done all the time but it depends on the material and look you are going for. If you had something light and airy you could let it "pool" onto the floor and it will look really nice. Just dont let it look messy or like you dont mean it to look that way.

Curtain rods are hung 84" off the floor, if windows are hung within standard. Old house may have windows at 90". Then buy 96" curtains and shorten them.

make sure the curtains do not touch the "par-terre" (i.e. the floor) if not you will have to shorten them. To begin with all extra length could be hidden on top (by rolling over) and not at the bottom. so go up as far as you can -- provided it does not touch the floor or the window seal -- whichever comes first. good climbing...watch out.
