Fasting is one of the Pillars of Islam and is a form of worship, and Muslims are slaves of ALLAH, but you cannot serve ALLAH and serve man simultaneously, which is what you insist on doing when you fast in the workplace.

Fasting in the workplace can also put others at risk, as does driving to work, and the Quran recommends or commands that fasting be done at home.

Working Muslims should think about using their vacation leave to fast or obey the Quran by claiming exemption from the fast by feeding the poor for the day or days, or by making up for the lost fast on non-working days, which would see Muslims at fast throughout the year on different days of the year.

ALLAH has said that the fast is not meant to put you in difficulty and you therefore should make it easy on yourselves and on others.

Illnes also exempts Muslims from the fast and those who continue to fast in illnes make it even more difficult on themselves and on others.

Muslim should be honest with ALLAH.

Hey!
fasting is not about "to eat or not to eat".
Fasting a a Pillar of Islam and is as much a form of worship as prayer and it is a prayer and it is to show gratitude to Allah for the Quran and all His Favours on you.

IT Is Allah who prescribes FASTING and ALLAH says it is to be done bu those who are at home.

You dont only have to pay your bills, you are commanded to share with the poor, and your Zakat.

You sound like you are taking shahadah to your boss when you talk about your bills and that is exactly my point, THAT YOU SERVE YOUR BOSS AS YOUR GOD IN THE WORKPLACE AND YOU CANNOT SERVE YOUR BOSS AND SERVE ALLAH WITH YOUR FAST IN THE WORKPLACE, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DISOBEY ALLAH AND HIS LAW ON THE FAST, in your workplace.

HOW IGNORANT ARE THESE muslims?

Quran is a Book of LAW and is the Muslim's prayer, and FASTING is the Muslim's prayer.

Feeding the poor exempts you from the FAST and you talk about PAYING the BILLS.

If you cannot afford to fast properly why work?

Are you somebody else's SLAVE?

Allah commands that he who cannot afford to marry should fast.

Why are these Muslims so obsessed with money?

Allah calls you MEAN in the Quran. You squeeze your dollars to death and you talk of fast?

Distraction in the workplace is not that you will EAT, it is that you wont concentrate on ALLAH and the FAST and the Quran.

When I was Christian I worked for a Muslim employer who sent his Muslim workers home half day every day with full pay in the month of Ramadan while the non-Muslim workers had to work the full day and keep the business going without remuneration for doing the work that all were hired to do, and that was highly discriminatory and un-Islamic, but fair to his own kind.

Employers are within their rights to ban fasting in the workplace, and offer the employee the time off without pay to fast.

Fasting workers are a risk to the health and safety of themselves and other workers and will be less productive and are in breach of the Law of the Fast.

Do you wish to fast and gain on the employer and on others and make fasting your own little game?

I have heard Muslims describe Eid as the Muslim Christmas and this is so un-Islamic.

Why do non-Muslims think the fast to be a Festival of Ramadan when it is meant to be serious worship of Allah?

The Muslim on this website used Answers to say HELLO to Muslims who are supposed to be fasting and to BOAST about his meal before the fast, and you can well imagine the feast at the end of the day???????????

I have seen Muslims break fast with a FEAST that took four Muslims to discard of the BAGS of waste after the fast and there were not even 15 of them who fasted and broke the fast. Gluttonny!

If they choose not to eat at work so what. I know a lot of people who are not Muslim who don't eat at work. Are you going to tie them to a chair and force them to eat? Is this really about the fasting, or the fact that you are anti-Islam?

Many Muslims fast AND work at the same time because like it or not we all have to pay the bills at the end of the month. As a Muslim I 'serve' God, but I work to achieve success & excellence (that's what jihad really means doesn't it) not to serve people.

A Muslim can use the night time to focus on his/her 'ibadah' (Islamic good deeds).

If fasting is meant to be easy, Ramadhan isn't a month that is about self-control or striving for excellence. Not everything in life is easy.

I'm just wondering... why do you think many Muslims are not being sincere and honest with Allah?

*edit*

I feel what you are telling people to do is unrealistic. Muslims have a family to feed, and as you said they have to pay zakat and share with the needy. How can they do any of this if they are in financial difficulty? It's not about obsession with money. I think we all agree money is an essential part of survival. Tell me, what do you pay your phone bill with? How do you buy food for eftar?

I believe a lot of things that we do everyday is considered 'ibadah'. If a Muslim works as an accountant, he is helping his clients manage their finance. If a Muslim is a teacher or lecturer, he is educating people... which is such a noble job by the way. What good are we if we can't help others around us?

Plus, just because you work it doesn't mean you forget about Allah. Everything I see around me reminds me of Allah, and when it's prayer time we pray to Allah. Like I said, if a person wishes to increase his duas and prayers, night time is a good time. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) once said:

“Whoever is afraid that he will not get up at the end of the night, let him pray witr at the beginning of the night, but whoever feels that he will be able to get up at the end of the night, let him pray witr at the end of the night, for prayer at the end of the night is witnessed [by the angels???], and that is better.”

At the end of the day, Allah knows our intentions best.

Salam.
