You're right, products are tricky in this type of hair. One of the best products I've used that does not weigh the hair down is Super Star in the Tigi Bedhead line. Use a volumizing shampoo and if you need to, conditioner on the ends ONLY. If you have oily hair you might not need the conditioner unless you have colored hair. If you can, get some highlights, they'll help add some texture to your hair. My favorite way to get volume is to towel dry the hair so that it's just damp. then use scrunchy type ponytail holder and pull the hair into a ponytail on top of you your head. You don't need to get all the hair, mainly the top and sides. You might want to leave out part of your hair, like the bang area and part of the sides. You can either let it air dry or use a blowdryer. Make sure your hair is just barely damp. You can hurry it along by blowdrying a few minutes and then putting in the scrunchy. You can also do some large braids in your hair, on damp hair. Part where you want it to fall, pull up large sections of your hair and braid. If you're hair isn't too oily you can sleep with them. Take them out when dry (either naturally or with the help of a blowdryer on low) and you'll lots of body and waves. If the ends need taming hit the ends with a curling iron, just on the ends, just to smooth any craziness. For more curl and body you can shampoo, towel dry, twist sections of hair until they twist back on itself and use butterfly clips to hold in place. Airdry or use blow dryer to dry and then take out the clips. the smaller twists the smaller the curls and waves, larger sections, larger curls and waves...and lots of body. You can also use the curling iron to tame ends as described before. Hope these help.

Wash every day! Make sure your hair is very very clean. Use a very very light conditioner and rinse it well! Then, QUICK, before it dries, use a dollop of volumizing mousse then flip your head upside down and blow dry on high until it's 90% dry. Your face will turn red, but it's worth it! Then flip back over and use a brush to tame your ends under (following the brush w/ the hairdryer)

Get Guts by Redken! You will have to go to a salon to get it. apply it to your roots only were u want the most volume and blow dry those areas first and then use a round brush to finish and get yourself a good teasing tomb. Good Luck

bend completely over and brush your hair towards the ground and then stand up and brush it back down
if that doesn't work then buy a volumizer from Redken or from the BedHead products
