If your golden is a female, go with a male Yorkie. Sometimes bringing in the same sex can cause problems.
Other than that, I don't foresee a problem. We have big dogs, and foster dogs of all sizes. Sometimes the mismatch of size works awesome because of the difference.

It would depend on what type of tempermant your Golden has
with small creatures. Normally at that age they don't want to be
bothered by boisterous pups around and the size difference is
crutial one swipe from the big paw and the yorkie might get hurt
badly. Yorkie are delicate pups and can get easily damaged.
I would advise getting a new pup at this time, also the Golden
might get jealous.

the golden is a breed that is normally so gentle and loveable thet will get along with anything on the face of this earth.with the yorkie being a pup, they will be best of buds.your problem will come when the older dog passes with age.the yorkie will probably show many signs of depression, since he will have lost his closest friend

A golden retriever puppy will regularly get alongside with distinctly a lot any dogs. they are very sociable and pleasant. i imagine the bigger question is, how does your yorkie get alongside with different dogs, really large dogs? I easily have 2 goldens and characteristic yet to stumble on a dogs they don't like. in spite of the indisputable fact that, there have been quite a few little dogs who did not like them -- i.e. growl or nip at them. fortunately, at that factor my domestic dogs have a tendency to only pretend the little dogs would not exist. yet they do no longer could stay with those little dogs, both. i imagine as long as Mikey is properly-socialized and receives alongside with large dogs it really is going to artwork fantastic, besides the actual shown reality that i'd recommend close supervision as they get to carry close one yet another. As a unmarried female myself, I truly do sense safer with a large dogs contained in the living house. And goldens are highly sensible and form. i could not be better thrilled or inspired with both truly one of my boys' sweet, sensible inclinations. yet when Mikey has a tendency to sense threatened by skill of massive dogs, you're better suited off getting him a playmate better his own length.

If it were my lab - and they are basically the same temperament - the lab would find the yorkie to be a delicious snack.

It really depends on the dog, not the breed.
