I always like trying something new sometimes. You could keep the sides with a little trim and do a buzz cut in the back?

Your problem is that you have thin hair, so if it gets greasy, it shows up more easily. Your cut is fine - just make sure that when you shampoo it - because it's longer - leave the shampoo in for a few minutes before rinsing it out. Makes for silky smooth hair! :-D
