I am usually very professional (sp) and calm during emergency situations. One day at work one of my clients seriously got injured. Now I have dealt with people dying from terminal illnesses, people falling and breaking bones, people getting very sick.
I work with the developmental disabled population. Well this person swallowed something toxic and for some reason I was having a very stressful time in my life and home and work and I just broke down. I was the manager on shift and had to step back and pass the buck to someone lower than me while I stepped into a bathroom for ten minutes to get myself together. I had to re-evaluate myself that day. It was very scary.

About a week ago. I decided to paint my living room, kitchen and dining room. I've never painted before so I was all exciting at first. But once it was time to start, I found ways to not start painting. A day or so later I did and I did a great job! I was so proud! :)

I think we continue to "surprise" ourselves... throughout life... sometimes daily....as to how our "feelings" will be, when faced with different, unexpected, "situations"..
We are normally stronger than we think we are... braver that we felt we could ever be...and smarter than we give ourselves credit for....
It takes these "situations" to realize it, though....
**It can be the reverse.... like you are asking about.. and many can "talk the talk".... but (when faced with).. can't "walk the walk"..

we should all know ourself and our limitation and challenges/situations are testing the advatages of your limitations and how you used them
we lose challenges and make wrong choices when we dont know our limitations and advatages.......and somtimes our advatages that you dont know you have come through and help you
and the last time i was surprised by myself was a few days ago when i did some cool stunts and i was only trying to aviod getting mawled by a ferocious dog

Just now. Your insightful question has given me an epiphany. I see now where my smartass answers to questions has been misguided and probably annoying to others. I'm going to dedicate the rest of my life to meditation and love of others.....
Ha! Just kidding!

Even though I'm passive aggressive by nature, I have been becoming more forthright and outspoken.
