In a pinch wax paper would do but parchment paper is a thicker paper so the results would be better, easier to remove from it.

Silpat. Parchment paper is paper coated with silicon. Silpat is a sheet of silicon that can be used again and again. NOTHING sticks to it, and it is reusable. $25 or so for a sheet to line a half sheet pan, and you'll never need to purchase parchment or wax paper again.
