My parents were really overprotective too. If I was out having fun, I wouldn't be there to cater to my mom's every whim...that's the only reason I can think of for my family at least.

Sometimes parents are like that because they want you to have a well structured life they want the best for you. The downside is a lack of fun on your part.Don't feel like they are holding you back from your life, just be patient and trust what they are doing.

God bless your parents! Too few parents are strict enough these days. That's why so many young people are getting into so much trouble. One day you'll look back and be glad they were so strict.

okay your parents are like my parents. It's unfair, but you get over it. Do you know how i get to got out with my friends? I reassure them by telling them i'll be home at a certain time, where i'll be going, and who i will be hanging out with. If they're still not reassured, ask your friend to talk to them or your friends' parents to talk to them. It shows your parents that your responsible and that you need to be independent.

my parents r the same. i been dealing with it for 4 years not. and im so use to it i dont give a damn..but i dont wanna see that happen to anyone else.. jes suck up to ur parents as much as possible. and if that dont work. it go out.

oh that means ur parents is overprotective and they still wont let u go that u r asll grown up. just tell them that thay have nothing to be worrid about and that u r responsible. good luck

Good for them......more parents should be like them. It is a nasty world out there..........full of predators. Next Friday night, watch "Dateline" sweetie.....it will give you a chance to see real life!
