NO! You cannot legally tell parents anything that is said in confidence. Even minors have rights. Doctors are not allowed to tell parents test results if the minor does not give them permission to do so. Patient confedentiality is a code of ethics you have to abide by regardless of patients age. However if they are being sexually abused or physically harmed you are entitled to contact the appropriate authorities and allow them to investigate.

I don't think you are allowed to divulge any information at all UNLESS they are in danger or have harmed someone else or have been abused other than that it should always be confidential otherwise what would be the point of talking to a counselor if you are gonna tell someone the whole point is to have someone to confide in and get healthy advise .without repercussions or judgment.

Out of curiousity, I scanned through the Texas State regulations and didn't see anything that implied such a direction.

I dont think it is necessary unless they are extremely young. i dont know if u have to or not but i dont think its appropriate.
