"DriveCleaner" charged my card while I was trying to finish applic. but decided not to go thru with purchase. Now they won't take the charges off my Capital One credit card. I have written them and they keep trying to switch me to some other product. Last word from them was I had to show the "cleaner" wasn't working on my computer in order to cancel it.

Dispute the item with the credit card company. If you've exhausted your attempts to resolve the issue with the company and you did not order or receive the product the card company will reverse the charge to you.

You simply call Capital One and tell them that you did not authorize the charges made to your credit card by "DriveCleaner". Capital One will then do an investigation and determine to take the charges off. If the compnay is in violation you can always report it to the Better Business Bureau and call the company one more time and explain that if the unauthorized charges are not refunded promptly you will be seeking legal representation and press charges for credit card fraud and theft. Usually that gets it done. When you call Capital One dont tell them that you contacted "DriveCLean" let them deal with it and good look.

Did you download the product? If you did, then in their software license agreement it is virtually impossible to get a refund.
If you didn't download anything or get it in the mail, then you should call Capital One and dispute the charges, and then file a complaint for Credit card fraud.
