But we dance all the time on the set of Sesame Street. Are all of us going straight to hell for doing the vertical mambo #5?

Christians shouldn't worry about sins, theirs are forgiven. God has made a change in the Christian and he is faithfull to complete his work. Worry if this or that is a sin only creates doubt in a Christians identity of being Holy in his Father's eyes. Focus on Holiness, not on sins.

Conservative Christians are not God, and God loves dancing if it is done in joy and worship. King David danced in the streets before the Lord much to the displeasure of his wife because he was half naked. But he danced before the Lord and it was good. A lot of the dancing today is just sex with your clothes on. I don't think they do that on Sesame Street. Watching children dance is one of the most delightful things to see, and I'm sure God enjoys it, too.

There are some who say dancing is wrong. Jesus wants you to enjoy life. There is a story of Kind David in the old testament. He had just won an important battle and he was feeling so overjoyed over it that the bible says he danced with all his might before the Lord...so much so that his wife was embarrassed by it. The rules that God has made were to keep people from hurting each other. But he wants us to enjoy life in every way that makes us feel good. God doesn't want us to cheat our friends or our life long partners so not to hurt one another but to love one another but we still have a hard time practicing those things

Im not Christian but Im just suggesting why they would say that.

It isnt so much the dancing as much as the culture behind it. Dancing on Sesame street has an educational purpose while dancing done in Rap videos have a more sexual connotation to them.

You might like this story:

In the Old Testament David danced before God in worship - he got so into the dancing that he tore off his outer garment and just partied down because he loved God so much!!

... now of course there were the haters - especially his wife Michal - She didn't really love him or God at all - she was just jealous of the fact that he loved God so much. She accused him of being lewd and getting all the young girls to stare at him, but it was all in her head! He was just worshipping the God he loved and he was full of joy!

You need to remember that just because some people poopoo and no no things does not mean that they are sins! God alone is the judge of what is right and what is wrong - and we all have to answer to God for how we lived our lives. I think there will be alot more important issues coming up on judgment day other than when or how we danced such as - did we love God with all of our hearts and minds and strength and did we love our neighbors as ourselves?

Although I'm a Christian I have to strongly disagree because even in the bible David went dancing in the streets while tearing his clothes. It don't get more vivid than that I tell yah. So no, dancing is not a sin.

so some distance as i understand, it is not surely a "sin" interior the sense it is surely forbidden interior the Bible. Conservatives / Baptists would frown upon it because of the fact it would desire to entice interest to youthful (shifting) bodies, arouse passions, and convey approximately being pregnant or sexual intercourse in toddlers. Dancing would not be self-denial and a concentration on the non-fabric factors of life, even nonetheless it would desire to be a low-capital form of entertainment. It the previous testomony, there are surely examples of human beings dancing as a sort of worship, and so on.; yet as you are able to understand, a minimum of a few factors of the O.T. are actually discounted by potential of 'conservatives' who assume it rather is been previous by potential of the N.T.

While dancing is not specifically condemned anywhere in the Bible, there are a number of scriptural principles that would indicate that many types of popular dancing are sinful either because of the dance itself or because of the setting in which it is done.

I believe it's the type of danceing. All the sexual body shaking and jyrating is definately not appropriate behavior in the eyes of the Lord. Be it in private or public. One can dance it's just how you dance.
