I just changed some batteries in a remote control. The old batteries were leaking acid. My fingers aren't burning or anything. Is there any hazard?

you find acid only in car batteries.

the stuff that leaks out of old dry batteries might be acidic but its not an acid, which is usually very acidic and therefore caustic and dangerous for skin contact.
on the other hand some metal compounds like lithium could be toxic so just wash your hands .

it shouldn't be any problem...just make sure to wash your hands repetedly for 24 hours...tilll its fully clensed, but it would be a hazard if the battery acid was hot, that's when ur in trouble...for example car's hot batter acid....that something to look out for.

wash your hands, but other than that the remote might have suffered some damage, if it starts acting up then you know that it is bad.
