This one's easy. They were human. Humans die. Therefore Saints died. Jesus, too. You and I at some (hopefully distant) time, as well.

If Jesus were still alive, don't you think he'd be here coaching us along?

Jesus died also, yet he was resurrected. The true saints of Jesus will also be resurrected on the last day, yet now they sleep awaiting the loud trump and the lords return.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 "the dead know not anything"

The word saint in the bible refers to anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Not just men and women who have been granted that status by man.

Saints (all who believed) are alive here on earth and there are also many saints who are dead in the flesh. Their spirits are alive and well, awaiting their glorified bodies when the "taking up in the clouds" occurs, often times referred to as rapture.

For pourin who answered above me. Its the angels who rejoice when a single sinner repents and believes. Please read your bible and your bible alone for biblical truth over mans truth.

I agree -- also, Peter, James and John met Moses and Elijah with Jesus, so these two prophets had died on earth but were alive in heaven until they met with Jesus and the disciples on the mountain.

Yes exactly. I asked a question the other day about all of Heaven rejoicing when a single sinner repented and if that were so they DO know what goes on here and so it isn't a waste of time to pray to them to intercede.
