every time my guy and i are together he turns his cellphone down and i asked him why does he do this and he said he doesnt want anyone bothering him while we are together,but every few mintues he's checking to see if anyone has called him and if he has a missed he acts as if he doesnt know who has called.why does he do this can someone explain?

Is he just your guy, or is he in an exclusive relationship with you---because that can make a huge difference.
If he is just your guy then you can assume that he has others calling him too. If he is in an exclusive relationship then you need to consider how he is and if it is worth asking. Most guys who cheat will not tell you who called to begin with, but then, there are also guys who tend to their business without informing you.
I have a situation where the phone rings and rings and he would not answer it and I do not bother to ask any questions. I respect the fact that he is a man and ought to know what he is doing, because if he has someone else, sooner or later it'll come out and then he'll lose me. So in the long run I don't consider something like this not worthy to start any kind of argument or questioning game. The bottom line for me is that I know who I am, what I want, and what my limitations are, and if he is so insecure that he needs other women in his life, then that is his problem not mine...and maybe that approach will work for you too....Good Luck

If it was me, I'd grab his phone and look for myself. Ha ha. Most of the time when a guy is doing this he's up to no good and it's someone that he can't talk to with you present. Which is.. NO GOOD. I'd ask him to see his phone when this happens and if he gets cranky then you have your answer - my gut says he will get cranky and when he does you need to put an end to your time together because you deserve more than that.

You might want to let him know that particular phone has a OFF switch, Or better still do the same to him even if no one is there check your phone if he says anything tell TWO can play that game

he has someone else. he is obviously checking his phone constantly because if the other girl calls he knows he either has to leave soon or come up with an excuse why he didn't answer. he's lying about not knowing who calls.the guys a loser. get rid of him.

I do that too, because I am cheating on her. In case the other woman calls I obviously cannot answer, so I turn the phone off or put it on vibrate.

Sound a little strange... Next time tell him to just shut it off... He should pay attention to you not with his mind wandering to the phone every five mins.. I will be pissed off too...

c'mon everyone dont say he is cheating. maybe its a habbit..something he cant help doing. Don't think he is cheating on you. About him not knowing..maybe he doesnt want to talk about, maybe it was a friend of his..but he would rather be with you instead of talking to him/her. I wish you goodluck with you're relationship.

Tell him you dont mind his cell phone being on because if you dont then he is going to continue to check it. Also, once he is done with you cant he call/text them back?

you sure it's not anoter girl, but that's not it than he's trying to find a way to get away from you, probably becuase he's bored or like i said before tries to find a way in getting a break, so he wants to be bothered when he's with you.
