I went on a date last night. I unlocked the passenger door for her and let her in. I was hoping she would reach over and unlock my door for me, but no such luck. I let it go the first time as it's the first date and she's probably nervous, but then the same thing happens the second time. I jokingly ask her if she's just going to leave me out in the cold, to which she replies "well you have the keys". I mean isn't it just common courtesy to unlock the ******* door?

I understand that she may be more accustomed to newer locking mechanisms. I just wanted a second opinion as simple things like this do say a lot about someone's character.

Next time, unlock your door and make her wait outside.
Her reaction should be a definite sign of exactly what kind of woman she really is.
Personally, I don't think it's that difficult to help someone out....and the "Well you have the keys" comment sounds a little snobby.

It's called the door test, I have used it many times, and only a few have passed it. It is the very first tests men should do to find out if their date is really interest in him, The ones that passed the test we had a very good relationship, and the ones that failed showed me that she really didn't want to be with me and her mind and thoughts were somewhere else. you did right by asking if she was going to leave you out in the cold. I bet you didn't get any from her either. If there is a next time, unlock your door first and leave her out side until you at least start the car, she will think differently after that.

I think that she is probably used to the fact that most cars are remote entry and it's far easier for you to move your thumb than it is for her to reach all the way across the car to unlock it.
In any case, an exchange like this on the second date isn't good. Maybe, skip the third for both of your sakes.

I dated a guy that felt the way you do.... and ACTUALLY judged me... on whether I leaned over and unlocked his door or not...
Come on... I didn't know this was a "test" that men do....
I DID unlock His door... in this vehicle... it was the decent and polite, courteous thing to do... but...
Most vehicles these days... with auto locks..etc.. it's not a good "test"...to determine what kind of "girl" she is.... or how she will be with you....

remember that locking and unlocking car doors is kinda old school, as most newer cars offer external devisec that lock and unlock ur car doors so....IMHO sooner or later she will do as u want her to... I mean she will unlock the door for u once she gets accustomed to it....

Yes with me it is just habit to reach over and unlock the door. She was being rude.

If little things like that get on you nerves that bad than I think you should really think twice about going on another date.
