In Kentucky we have the kentucky educational professional standards boards on epsb.net. On there we can look up any ky teacher's credentials. I'm sure Illinois has a comparable website.

At one time Social Security number were used on certification so to view actual credentials might not be possible. You might try asking state rep or senator if teacher has credentials for job x.

Hmm... I dunno, but I have same, problem, I mean how do you know if they're qualified. Although, I do think that there is a database of this, I just don't know where it is or how to use it, if I found it...
