I want to switch linux back to windows xp but I dont have a windows disk but i was wondering if I need to buy the whole xp cd or can i just buy a upgrade disk (was just going through ebay and found that upgrade was the cheaper route thanks for all the help

and also if there is a free version of any version of windows can i get a iso or some form of download so that i can burn it to cd or cd's

also it will be going onto a older unit that has a p3 and a small hard drive it did have win xp pro but i couldnt find or get the passowrd for the admin rights thats why it has linux on it but i wanna switch it back to windows

The upgrade version is possible if you have any previous Windows CD around. Win 95, Win98, Millenium. Without a windows disk you will have to buy the full installation cd. Incidentally, just so you know it is possible, I once had four OS's on the same computer: Win 98, Win 2000, XP and Linux. Partition Magic makes that possible. And by the way, the upgrade version has the same XP as the full installation cd. The difference is $100 and installation coding.

sorry, the upgrade version will not work in your case. the upgrade version is only for people who has a pervios version install and currlentlly in used, but since you reformat your harddrive to install linux. you will need to buy the full version for 200 dollars at a computer store like bestbuy, but if you go to a local computer store then will charge you 100 dollars.

cd ,then

place the cd into .the cd/dvd.drive bootup the system on the cd .then just install windows xp 64 bit edtion for free .when it comes to the product .key just enter this key
