Through early morning fog I see
visions of the things to be
the pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see...
that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
I try to find a way to make
all our little joys relate
without that ever-present hate
but now I know that it's too late, and...
that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
so this is all I have to say.
that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
The only way to win is cheat
And lay it down before I'm beat
and to another give my seat
for that's the only painless feat.
that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but...
that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
A brave man once requested me
to answer questions that are key
is it to be or not to be
and I replied 'oh why ask me?'
'Cause suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
...and you can do the same thing if you please.

you know what? I'm totally against medication unless it is ABSOLUTELY needed.
I recently went through 2 deaths in the family and did get very depressed--to the point where I could not eat. I got busy with swimming(other exercises do the same). Exercising does release more serotonin in the brain and serotonin makes us feel good. Pick up your favorite sports - ball, tennis, rugby, weight lifting, whatever, and do that 5 times a week---your entire outlook on yourself will change, and when that happens you'll be more positive about yourself, and that's when you will have fun at dates.
If picking up a regular exercise does not get you out of being depressed, then you might have to see a specialist. But I would try the exercising for a few months before I resorted to pills--Good Luck

I think prozac and other anti-dperessants are for people who are seriously clinically depressed with many disorders.
Although, I am studying Psychology and have 8 courses left for my BA, I too went through a turmulous time in my life. I did take an antidepressant. I was comfortable for about a year. Then I didnt like it. I read more about it. Instead, I stopped taking the medicine, with my MD knowing. and changed my diet and expercise program. I ate a low carb high protein diet, and lots of water and juices. I have stayed on this diet for 5 years and I feel great about myself.
I concentrate on myself and my health first. Then everything else is just gravy

Long term care is very hard to get off of, I would not recommend that. I don't think you are depressed that you don't have a girlfriend, it could be something a lot more important that you don't want to admit to yourself. Find out what is really upsetting you so much before you commit to an anti-depressant. See a doctor. You may just need short term care to get over this hard time in your life.

Anti-depressant medication can work (or, it can make you worse) and it has to be prescribed by a doctor.
Try to keep busy doing things and don't appear "desperate and dateless". Get involved with sports, music, church group, volunteer work, get a job, anything that you really are interested in and will keep you busy.
Doing things is a natural mood booster. When you have goals for yourself, you will feel better and you will naturally attract people to you.

Hon depression is a symptom of something larger than dating woes. I know lonliness is tough, but what you crave is a deeper connection than what you would find with just anybody. I myself have found myself in this very posistion , and as corny as it sounds found myself turning to prayer for help with a problem I felt nobody else could truly understand, or would even really care about. In particular I turned to St Jude, (the patron saint of lost and hopless cases) I was skeptical, but you know it really worked? Check out this site,stjudenovena.org....give it a shot, really what have you got to lose? And if you need anybody to talk to, I'm a good listener!

Having a girlfriend will not end your depression. Maybe you should try to hang out with your friends and have together Being happy at all times will help minimize your depression. Usually, depression happens when you are alone, nothing to think about, or bored. Try to read self-improvement books.

Medication can help. The trick is to find the right one. I tried 4 different ones (and hated the various side effects) until I found Wellbutrin, which works awesome for me. Good Luck!

Nothing is going to help you unless you want to help yourself.. you have to know why your depressed? You have to know your somebody. somebody needs you.
You have to look within and not allow evil thoughts to control your life. Look around someone woman is looking for a different type of man.. and am sure you care truly be him.
So stand up.. take a step forward, breathe in and enjoy life, find what you want and go grab it.. you want a new job? go get it.. you want a new pair of shoes? go buy them.. you want to move? pack up and move forward.. you have to find direction find love, find peace. pray and keep moving forward.. I love you because you took the first step knowing you have an issue and you want to change your life. step up and step out,, You can do anything if you want it bad enough
