I think you sound refreshingly young minded and age should be no boundary to what you are wearing as long as you look good and feel comfortable.
I don't know why age for some people connotates that we should all be dressing in terry towelling dresses with a purple rinse. If you have always enjoyed fashion why should you stop with age...........'mutton dressed as lamb' is a fallacy unless it is deliberately tasteless

Don't let other people dictate what you wear and do. Seriously, why do you care what other people think? I've met women in their 70s and 80s with long hair because they wanted it that way. My grandma is her early 70s (although she looks closer to late 40s and has not had plastic surgery either), she still wears jeans and the like and she doesn't look odd in the least. It's your life so do what makes you happy, whatever that includes.

That is a bunch of ****! Don't you dare cut your hair just because you've turned 50!! You're not a little old lady--yet!! And if you teach high school, then you definitely have to cultivate a "younger" image.
I think it's a load of horsehockey that women who turn a certain age have to have short hair. If you look at other cultures, they don't do that! Why should you??

Ignore your mom!!!!!!!! Wear what you want. Wear your hair like you want.
I look much younger than my age. I dress and act the age I look and feel. Why dress old just to make old folks and jealous folks happy.
Everyone thinks I am much younger than I am, and are in a state of shock when I tell my age. Why should I dress old and act old because the number says I should????????????and why should you???? We go around once.........grab for all the gusto you can and have as good a time for as long a time as you can.

If you like the way you look don't change a thing. You are your own person. How you wear your hair and dress every day is a sign of you individuality and your personality. Older women always think they need to wear old fashioned clothing and cut their hair. I do not think that is the wisest decision for most of them. Why would you want to look older? If people thing you are younger because of your hair style and your clothing, let them continue to think that. I is a complement take it and smile!! Don't change a thing, unless you want too!!

No, don't cut your hair into the dreaded old lady haircut I hate so much! As long as your hair looks good on you, don't worry about what your mother says. Maybe she's a little old fashioned.

If you like the way you look, then don't change it because someone else says you should. Look at Cher....she's almost 60 and she still looks 30...of course plastic surgery has helped her, but still. There's no set look for each age. Why should you have to look your age just because you're that age? You don't have to be put out to pasture when you turn a certain age.

I don't think being 50 is too old to wear longer hair or stop wearing jeans, but it's probably about the right age to stop letting your Mom boss you around. :-)

Keep it which ever way you like. You aren't old at all. If you like longer hair, jeans, and embroidered tops, wear them. Your mother really doesn't matter.
