Why don't you get that they don't decide the fare?! Taxi's are run by the government. Muslims, Jews, Christians and whatever have no say in what they charge. You obviously have some pent up anger towards Muslims which is why you persist in asking the idiotic question even when you have been given the answer and even a site where you can get your facts right! Why have a go at a group of people over something they have no control over?
When in a country you apply by their rules... If I was in another country I may not agree with their rules but I will live by them. We have Christmas here and even if I didn't celebrate it I couldn't go to work because the place where I work is closed during Christmas. If I was totally against a countries rules then I wouldn't go there in the first place. So your example answer makes no sense.
Taxi drivers do not decide what they charge. The fares are set by the Public Carriage Office (A government body). They decide what the standard rate is, how much they charge in the evening and on which days they may charge extra.
The driver, who may be Muslim, Christian, Jewish or anything else just applies these rates but has no control over them.
As I said when I answered your previous question... Mini cabs are a different story they can charge pretty much what they want to.

Of course it has everything to do with them, they believe in Jesus (Isa) which shows you are lacking in knowledge as well as Muslims don't celebrate rammadad---->>it's Ramadan. Since you think all taxi drivers that increase fares are Muslims, then rest assured they won't say anything at Ramadan (which it currently is) because they won't be charging themselves at all, let alone double. If you can"understand" high prices at Bank Holiday just apply that "knowledge" to Christmas and other holidays and stop fretting. If its such an issue, use another form of transport, or better still walk in the freezing cold. Once you get frostbites, you will be grateful for forking out the extra quid at any time of the year being it Christmas or not!!! Maybe the problem is whose pocket the money goes in to....Most of your hatred seems to be directed at Muslims. Why don't you just concentrate on planning a good Christmas and stop giving them grief!

Christmas time isn't just a christian religious holiday, the whole country gets time off work and if they are working when its supposed to be a public holiday then they are entitled to charge extra, and its Ramadan, pillock.
**EDIT**
Why should I be concerned about what the Saudis do? I've never been there and I only intend on going once in my life, for hajj. You people need to stop assuming Muslims that live life by one rule in one country are automatically expected to live life by the same rules in a different country, and that one country always seems to be Saudi Arabia. Well, I couldn't give a sh*t what they do over there, I'm a British Muslim and that's the way I'm going to keep it. Double time for Taxi guys over Christmas (again I don't care as I'm Muslim I don't drink therefore I drive!)

Christmas is a corporate Holiday. It is for making money. It was originally(?) a pegan holiday adopted and transformed by christians in an attempt to assimilate other people into their religion by blending native religious concepts with christian concepts. Now it is a corporate holiday that some pegans celebrate, and some christians celebrate, and many corporations, businesses, pegans, christians, muslims... [people] make money off of. As culture changes, and ideas, and values change, so do the meaning of things including holidays. This is simply a predictable procession of things. Who knows where the pegans may have gotten their ideas for their holiday... things change.
I could no longer begrudge a muslim from making money off of a corporate holiday, than i could begrudge a christian, pegan, atheist etc., from making money from a corporate holiday.
I believe the base of this question rests in xenophobia, racism, fear, and deep resentment based on broad uneducated generalizations.
I do not wonder why we have world hunger, I know it is because people spend their energy and money worrying about such trivial things like in this question.

In actual fact Muslims do believe in Christmas, as Jesus is viewed as a prophet to them. Incidentally, the only woman mentioned in the Qu'ran is the virgin Mary, and only because of the reference to Christmas.
It is Easter that Muslims do not accept.
Muslim opinions vary between Jesus dying on the cross (and not rising 3 days later as he was a man), and an impostor being crucified in his place, with Jesus ascending into heaven.

Ok, in all fairness, why don't we make Muslim taxi drivers stop overcharging during a holiday that is not theirs, and while we're at it, let's give the Muslims paid holiday for Ramadan! Sound good to you? I know I could use a month of rest and paid time off!
