These people were elected by Americans. People who actually had a choice and this is the one they choose. We have no control over the catholic church. We do have some control over our government. Unless, you live in Texas where the majority of the people who show up to vote are bible belt republicans. Look at Ann Richards. A remarkable, intelligent, straight talking, free thinking,and sincere democrat loses re-election to a man who promises the voters of the state of Texas, that he has no aspirations for the White House. Guess what, 4 years later, that is exactly where he was. The last time that I voted for a republican in a major race, i.e. governor, senate, house, or president, was Ronald Reagan. I do not go and vote straight party either, I pay attention and try to make an informed vote. Oh ****, I am ranting. What was your question again?

It has been speculated that Ann Richards lost a lot of votes when she vetoed the Concealed Bill. A bill allowing a person to carry a concealed weapon into a public establishment. I hate the NRA with a passion, me being a die hard liberal commie democrat, that goes without saying. We need stricter hand gun laws, not looser ones. Why do we need automatic weapons? Would you want to kill a deer with an oozy? I don't see a crowd of people rioting outside my house, so I don't need to kill 20 people in 30 seconds. It is insane. And the bible belt loves guns!
