where can i find a good program for opening compressed files?

I'm pretty sure you can get a free trial of a program called WinZip. It works pretty well on pk3's and other compressed files.

WinRar is also a pretty good program which supports multiple archive types.

Download WinRAR, a lot better and much more diverse than WinZip.
