I want to know the best way to clean a flat gril? I have heard you use 7up when cleaning helps cut the grease. And use a razor blade to scrape the black grime off. And you can use a block that you can buy at walmart to clean the surface. I want to know the fastest, easiest way that leaves the fewest scratches. Any techniques would also be appreciated. Ty

There is a product made by EZ-Off that cleans grills. I do mine in the backyard. I put down a bunch of newspaper, then spray the stuff on the grills. Wait 30 minutes or so and then use a nylon brush and water to get all the goop off.

There are things called grill bricks which is what i think you were referring to. They are very messy though. I prefer using grill screens and a green or blue scrubbing pad. Get the grill up to temp, then turn it off. pour on a little oil, get grill screen(on bottom) green pad, and holder(they are sold as a kit at rest. supply places), scrub in a circular motion. work on one area at a time. wipe it down to keep grime and oil from cooking back on. then move on to next area and repeat. once clean it is easy to keep that way using same method.

the most effective way is an old fashioned one, white vinegar and lemon juice, splash a bit on vindger on it while it's hot, then rub it down with half a lemon, then just whipe it off with a clean cloth, gotta do it while the grill's hot though,
